THE Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared former Chairman of the defunct Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT), Abdulrasheed Maina, wanted over an alleged case of receiving stolen property.
Maina, 61, was listed on the EFCC’s wanted persons portal as the commission seeks information on his whereabouts.
The agency identified him as an indigene of Biu, Borno State, and urged anyone with information that could lead to his location to contact its offices across the country or the nearest police station and other security agencies.
The EFCC provided a telephone contact and email address through which information on Maina could be submitted.
The latest declaration adds to Maina’s long-running legal battles with the anti-graft agency.

The EFCC had previously declared him wanted in 2015 over allegations linked to pension biometric contracts involving former Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Steve Oronsaye, and two others.
At the time, the commission said Maina had been charged before the Federal High Court Abuja alongside Oronsaye and others on a 24-count charge bordering on procurement fraud and obtaining by false pretence.
The EFCC subsequently prosecuted Maina in a separate case involving alleged pension fraud and money laundering.
The commission accused him of receiving about N1.82 billion through a Fidelity Bank account and allegedly using an account operated in his sister’s name to divert pension funds.
