KENYA Airways is targeting Nigerian millennials and Generation Z travellers with a campaign promoting Kenya as an accessible international destination, leveraging visa-free entry, daily flights and onboard Nigerian cuisine to attract more passengers.
The airline recently hosted Nigerian media and entertainment personality, Noble Igwe, and fashion entrepreneur, Tania Omotayo, who is also the founder of Ziva Lagos, on a curated trip to Nairobi as part of efforts to strengthen its presence in Nigeria.
The campaign is designed to encourage younger Nigerians to explore Kenya and other African destinations, rather than prioritising Europe and the Gulf for international travel.
Kenya Airways has operated flights to Lagos since 1998, making Nigeria one of its longest-standing markets outside East Africa.
The airline said Nigerian passport holders can enter Keny a without a visa or electronic travel authorisation and stay for up to 60 days, making the country an accessible destination for Nigerian holidaymakers and business travellers.
Kenya Airways operates daily flights between Lagos and Nairobi, with four daytime and three overnight services weekly.
Country Manager, Nigeria, Kenya Airways, James Nganga, said the airline was working to make travel between the two countries more convenient and attractive.
“With visa-free access, daily flights, authentic Nigerian cuisine onboard and seamless connections across our network, we are removing barriers and creating experiences that resonate with a new generation of Nigerian travellers,” he said.

Nganga described Nigeria as a strategic market for the airline, adding that it hoped to inspire more young Nigerians to discover Kenya and other destinations.
Airline introduces Nigerian meals on Lagos route
Kenya Airways is also highlighting its onboard experience as part of efforts to attract Nigerian passengers.
Flights on the Lagos route are operated by the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, which offers passengers a modern cabin environment and improved air quality.
The airline said its Business Class cabin provides flatbed seating, allowing passengers to sleep or relax during their journey.
Since March 2026, the airline has sourced meals from Lagos for passengers departing Nigeria, allowing them to enjoy Nigerian dishes, including jollof rice, during their flights.
The initiative is intended to make the journey more familiar to Nigerian travellers while improving the airline’s appeal in the local market.
Nairobi offers connections to 44 destinations
Beyond tourism, Kenya Airways is positioning Nairobi as a gateway for Nigerian passengers travelling to other African and international destinations.
The airline connects passengers through its Nairobi hub to 44 destinations worldwide, including 36 across Africa, with onward services to Europe, the Middle East, Asia and New York.

It is also the only African airline member of the SkyTeam Alliance, providing access to its wider international network.
The airline’s Asante Rewards programme allows passengers to earn and redeem points across its network, including hotel stays through partners such as Accor and Serena.
Kenya Airways recently partnered with Visa and Absa Bank to introduce the Asante Global Card, a premium travel and lifestyle credit card offering airport lounge access, travel and medical insurance, additional baggage allowance and SkyPriority services.
Nigeria is among the key markets for the airline’s loyalty programme and card offering.
Kenya’s visa-free access is also strengthening its appeal as a destination for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions, as well as a regional headquarters location for multinational companies.
These opportunities could attract Nigerian business travellers seeking access to regional markets and corporate events.
Nganga said the airline’s broader mission was to promote economic and cultural connections across Africa.
“Our mission is to propel Africa’s prosperity by connecting its people, cultures and markets. Nigeria sits at the centre of that,” he said.
The campaign will continue across Nigerian media and digital platforms in the coming months.
