Nigerian singer Adedamola Adefolayan, popularly known as Fireboy DML, has explained how he has managed to maintain a largely scandal free career despite working in an entertainment industry often surrounded by controversies.
The ‘Peru’ hitmaker opened up about his public image and private life during a recent interaction with fans, revealing that he deliberately keeps personal matters away from the public.
According to Fireboy, limiting what people know about his private life has helped him avoid unnecessary misunderstandings and drama.

The singer said his decision to keep a low profile means people have little information about him beyond his music.
“They don’t know me enough to misunderstand me. I don’t give them enough personality or insight into my personal life,” he said.
Fireboy also disclosed that he does not involve himself in relationships or interactions with other artistes that could potentially attract controversy.
He said his priority remains his music and artistic growth rather than publicity stunts or gimmicks.
Singer says music remains his focus
Fireboy added, “I don’t have scandals, I don’t relate with other artistes, I don’t sell my music with gimmicks.”
His comments highlight the singer’s preference for allowing his music to remain the centre of his public identity.
Rather than courting attention through controversial moments, Fireboy appears to have built his career around his songs and a relatively private personal life.
The singer has continued to release music and maintain a strong presence in the Nigerian music scene while keeping details of his personal affairs largely away from public scrutiny.
